A handful of robots? Coordinating robotic teams.

Have you ever seen a flock of birds coordinating and flying together to reach their destination? Robotics engineers look at such flocks for inspiration on how to control the movement of multiple robots. This has applications in search-and-rescue missions, deploying robots to reach un-reachable sites; in manufacturing, to 3D print large structures not possible with regular 3D printers; to creating robotic art-works.

This video presentation describes ongoing work to ensure coordinated coverage by a multi-robot team.
